Leaving Stehekin, I felt some of the mental fatigue lift, knowing I was in the home stretch. Crossing North Cascades National Park, I pulled 3 days of high mileage to get about 11 miles from the Northern Terminus. The last day I was able to leave most of my gear at camp and slack pack to the border. Since the Canadian border remains closed, we had to turn around and hike back 30 miles to Harts Pass.

The weather held up the last week and the scenery was a fitting end to this epic trek.

Upon reaching Harts Pass, we were able to hitch to Winthrop. From there it will be a shuttle to Seattle followed by a flight home.

It will be interesting to see how this trip has changed me. For now, I’m still processing the completion, but happy to be homeward bound.
Happy trails…
Obi
