Banning

I ended up taking a day and a half in Idylwild, then climbing back up to the PCT and putting in a few miles. The next two days, I split the 8000 foot descent to the valley floor, reaching the I-10 and stopping overnight in Banning.

Fuller Ridge still had moderate snow cover, which made for slow going, even with spikes.

I’ve seen one deer, lots of ground squirrels, and an abundance of lizards. This one was kind enough to hold still long enough for a picture.

Mt San Jacinto from north base

Today I’ll start the 7000 ft climb to Big Bear, which should take about 4 days.

Under the I-10, the was a place for my fellow PCT hikers to sign in. Sadly, I have no cool trail name yet….
