Paradise Valley Cafe

I stopped at mile 151 at the landmark cafe stop for a real breakfast.

The climb out of Scissors crossing was bone dry and stinking hot. We stopped early afternoon to set up part of the tent for artificial shade, as the trail is fully sun exposed. Fortunately, there was a water cache 13 miles up, as we already had to start with 4 liters.

The next day was polar opposite, colder and misty

The iconic small cave….

Warner Springs was a dud, with the community center still shut down. I was able to pick up my resupply box at the post office, but not able to get another fuel canister. Moving on….

Eagle Rock
Camp set up
After popping two Sawyer bags, I settled on gravity filtration.

Til next stop.

I’ve had similar issues with my sawyer…you might try katadyn be free. They come with softer bags and they connect to smart water bottles.
    Cheers!
